KEY PLAYERS
CHERYL WHITMAN DUBUQUE, Producer/Writer
Dubuque has been involved in film and theatre most
of her life. She began in upstate New York where
she was born and has continued since moving to
California 34 years ago.
She is foremost a producer and a writer but has
worked in casting for a number of years, as well as
stage management, sound, props and costumes. Past
film/TV company employment includes Harrison Ford
Productions, Embassy Television (Norman Lear,)
Buckwheat Film (C. Thomas Howell,) Canyon
Entertainment, Tagerick Films, Studio 7 Productions
and Ramm Films. She now runs her own production
company, Angel Hawk Productions.
She created and co-produced two successful events
for "The March of Dimes": "The White Hat Western
Round Up" which honored Amanda Blake and Johnny
Crawford, held in conjunction with the telethon and
"Home Runs for the March of Dimes," a celebrity
baseball game and variety show.
Cheryl was the producer of two one act plays "Chug"
at the Taber Theatre and "Porch" for the Toluca Lake
Player, both taking Drama-Logue's critic's pick. She
was the producer of the stage production
"Up-front/Backstage" at the Gallery Theatre, worked
in publicity for Patrick Swayze's dance show
"Without a Word" and co-directed the video version
of the musical "Pepper Street" which dealt with
teenage suicide, with the intention of having it
distributed to schools.
Dubuque created and produced the successful "A
Theatre Affair" which brought together 25 theatre
groups for a day of networking, entertainment,
information and fun. She was also instrumental in
helping organize two non-profit women's theatre
groups.
She wrote, produced and directed her own 35 mm
film short entitled "I Never Got To Say Goodbye,"
which was a tribute to the life of a woman who
devoted herself to helping people, even though
battling her own illness. She was an Associate
Producer/Assistant Production Coordinator on the
feature film "Knockout." Most recently, she
co-produced the demo for "Old Doc Turtle," a weekly
animation series for children.
JAY LANGSETH, Producer/Associate Producer
Jay Langseth has been affiliated with Angel Hawk
Productions for a little over 5 years. Though still a
young man, he has had quite a bit of experience in
the entertainment field. Most recently he was the
Associate Producer on "I Never Got To Say
Goodbye." Jay began his creative endeavors as part
of his high schools stage crew. He went on to be an
assistant Technical Director for Blue Lake Fine Arts in
Michigan, and then studied additional lighting
techniques at WMU. He showed another side to his
creative abilities when he directed an adaptation of
"Alice In Wonderland," as well as several short skits
for a comedy troupe. Since moving to Los Angeles,
he has divided his time equally between writing,
producing and acting. Jay recently appeared in two
student films, a short and a Lifetime Original Series.
He brings to Angel Hawk Production a vision of what
the younger generation will respond to as opposed
to Dubuque's years of experience. This younger
vision increases our chances of expanding to a much
broader audience.
